Open letter to RIM
What is RIM doing? This is the question that I ask myself everyday.
What is RIM doing? This is the question that I ask myself everyday.
We saw what we thought was the london before, and we went kind of gaga over it, because it looked so…un-RIM like. Well if that was un-RIM like, this updated leak is even more astonishing. I mean look at that phone! Thin, sexy, and stylish…and NO KEYBOARD.
Here’s something that we wanted to happen a long time ago. RIM CO-CEOs Jim Baalsillie and Mike Lazaridis have stepped down from their position, and COO Thorsten Heins is taking over as CEO. According to The Verge:
What’s this? Signs of life from RIM? According to a report by the Financial Post, the CEO’s will be replaced as co-chairmen of the board. The Financial Post’s sources say that RIM is preparing to announce that both Balsillie and Lazaridis will give up their roles as chairmen and will likely be replaced by Barbara Stymiest, a former executive at TSX and RBC who currently sits on RIM’s review committee.
is now crumbling down around them. RIM was once a leader in the marketplace and a shinning Canadian company in the tech sector. Now it’s the same old thing that has been said over and over, they sat by and let their lead erode while simultaneously failing to remain current in the market. Now BGR is reporting that things have gone from bad to dire as the new Blackberry OS is reportedly going to be a failure.
Hold the phones. Remember when we said RIM couldn’t innovate? Well maybe, maybe, we called that putt a little early. According to The Verge, RIM is getting ready to release their first phone with QNX OS which they have rebranded BBX. That’s not the interesting part. The interesting part is the picture after the break.
RIM does things that just baffle the mind, it’s like they are trying to put their company in the grave. There are companies that [...]
You know it is kind of getting old bashing on RIM and their constant failures. But what the hey, we will do it anyways because they keep right on failing. They announced today that their update to the PlayBook OS will be pushed back until February 2012. Which means that it won’t be until then that the minuscule number of dumb people who actually bought the PlayBook will be able to access BBM or e-mail. RIM promised when the PlayBook was released earlier this year, that they would be releasing a version of the OS that had both BBM, email, and Android app support by the ened of 2011. Well. they lied.
Does this even matter? The number of PlayBooks they sold has to number in the thousands. Which means there aren’t that many people who actually care. If you’re one of them, might I recommend Gazelle.com? There you can sell your piece of shit and get money towards (around $100) an iPad.
First of all, does anybody even still use the PlayBook? Apparently RIM is still plugging away at making the device more popular with app developers. They announced when the PlayBook came out this spring that the device would eventually run Android apps in an emulator. It looks like they are finally getting ready to launch this elusive product. The Next Web reports…
RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis confirmed on Thursday morning that all BlackBerry services have been restored globally. RIM, the makers of the once-popular BlackBerry, offered assurances that the company was doing everything in its power to resolve service interruptions that have gone on since Sunday. A switch failure followed by a large backlog of emails is being blamed for the service outage, which affected millions of BlackBerry users across most of the World.
