Apple saved us from the Netbook
The first tattoo I got there was a sign in the tattoo parlor that read “Good tattoos aren’t cheap and cheap tattoos aren’t good”. All manufacturers still don’t seem to get consumers. They beleive the cheaper the product is the better it will sell. There is a balance and once products come in below the balance. It is so cheap people buy it because it’s cheap not because it’s good. They immediately view the products as being worth what it costs, in other words worthless.
The netbook arrived before the iPad and new tablet era. The netbook was cheap but the problem was that it was trying to be a smaller laptop but couldn’t do any of the serious things laptops can do. You would never expect a netbook to run graphics software properly, play serious games or many other intensive things. The netbook was good for web browsing, email and word processing types of applications. The great thing about the netbook is that it would be portable, more portable than a laptop. The problem was the keyboard was so tiny and balancing the device while on the go is a huge pain.
I had a netbook before the iPad was out. I didn’t like the experience and luckily I was able to sell it for the same price I had bought it for and soon after, I got an iPad. The iPad then arrived and the netbook has been pretty much forgotten. The new tablets are lighter and easier to use without a resized keyboard and a balancing act. They have apps that allow you to do some graphic processing and playing some really nice games. These things would never have happened on the netbook because it was a computer just less. So the tablet brought qaulity with the convenience, it’s not cheap and yet millions are being sold.
